November Updates

Okay. Hi. So. November has been FULL, y’all. Just. Lot going on. I’m sure most of y’all have experienced the same.

My husband asked me the other day how I felt about being almost done with November and not doing Nanowrimo. In all honesty? I’ve been so busy I haven’t even really noticed the lack, aside from all of the wordcount updates in my Facebook Memories feed. It’s probably a good thing I decided to sit this one out. I would be an absolute wreck right now if I was also trying to get a book written.

For the most part, it’s all been life stuff. Most of it good, but a lot of it stressful in various ways. On the writing front, I have been working on my revisions of last year’s Nano project, as well as getting my story Never Be the Same all ready for posting here (just started last Thursday–plenty of time to catch up!). Those have been a nice little bit of creativity to keep the mind in shape. I have about a million ideas for the next story I want to write, but also, like, zero? So, that’s where I’m at there. December will hopefully be for hashing that out and maybe getting a loose outline put together. We’ll see.

Game-wise, I am very nearly done with my Animal Crossing island refresh. At this point, really, I’ve just got to spruce up the beaches. It’s just a matter of finding time for it. Maybe next month I can share some pictures for you. I did also realize that the Portal bundle finally released for Switch, so I started up a new game of that–it’s a nice game to drop into when I have the time and whim. I’ve just gotten to the turrets. I turned on the subtitles so I don’t miss a single word of GLaDOS’ snarkiness.

Then we get to the yarny side of things. October was where my knitting ambition and reality started to clash a little. November was where they came crashing together in a big ol’ mess. Still! I have been productive! I have made many things! I cannot show you pretty much any of it! So, uh, yeah. That’s fun. ‘Tis the season for secret crafting and all that. On the ongoing projects front, I started the cottage for the Grimblewood gnomes series, but wasn’t knitting very comfortably with any of the needles I have and had to put it on pause. The new needles that will hopefully work came, but by then I’d moved on to other things with deadlines. *shrug* There’s a chance it will get finished this month, but I’m not holding my breath. As for my two year-long blankets? I’m not even done with October on one of them, and November’s section isn’t going to happen until maybe the end of December. Maybe.

But! I can show you one thing! My Year of Gnomes entry was a fun and quick knit, and I’m super happy with how she turned out! This month was All Work, Gnome Play (ravelry link). I think Gnorwen is a super-duper cutie, if I do say so myself.

So, there you have it. That’s what I’ve been up to this month–that I can share on this public forum, at any rate. I hope your November has been good, and/or less hectic. I’d say here’s hoping December will slow down a bit, but, um, that’s a pipe dream and we all know it. Still. At least I’ve got the glow of the Christmas tree to keep me company and help me chill when I start to get frazzled. That, my friends, is not nothing.

Until next month, take care!
